Painting with Light

Despite his friendly nature Jonathan's greetings often go misinterpreted.

After a few hours and many, MANY batteries we turned out this unusual photo where a Grad student, Jonathan tries to "remove" both Andie T., and Ashley from the Peace Park. Position and the number of flashes on the girls on the bridge took them most time to understand the balance between the amount of light. There were also two lamp posts in the park that we covered with our jackets to reduce the amount of light going into our lens. The Strange "camera shake" effect came from when we used our second focus to get Jonathan as crisp as the girls on the bridge.

Multiple Flash Assignments

Lexi Camp groves to the beat during the Center Stage Hip Hop dance practice Tuesday on MU’s campus. Center Stage is an organization that provides free dance lessons to children who would not have the opportunity otherwise. The classes, ranging from ballet to Hip Hop, are taught by MU students.

This image was created while I was working on my Multiple flash project. One of the more difficult tasks that we have attempted this semester, and it will take a lot more time to master. This was also taken with a cannon camera which I have had little to no experience with cannon gear. I would have liked more light falling on her eyes eliminating the shadow from her hairline, however this is not a bad image.

A great Photo Essay

This is not my work. I found this piece at Magnum in Motion.
